I was assaulted by a couple of teenagers for no apparent reason this lunchtime and spent the afternoon with the police and then at Addenbrooks A&E.
It's just bruising, and I can still see out of it (just about), but it is looking rather ugly. (The localized swelling near cuts has actually gone down quite a lot from immediately afterwards, but the overall puffyness has come up.)

Eek - poor you - what a nasty experience, and what a spectacular eye. I'm glad to hear that it's just bruising and send best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Oh, bah! That sucks! Rotten thing to happen.

It will mend. Honest, and the swelling and discolouration will subside. C got a black eye at school last year. Very colourful.

I hope you're not too badly shaken. That's a hoorid thing to deal with.

Yikes. Sorry to hear that, and hope it clears soon. And damn, that sort of thing is scary to hear about - you don't expect this of a lunchtime, unprovoked and (presumably) not anywhere especially "dodgy"?

(Meanwhile, I find it ironic that my google ads to the right are trying to sell me medieval helmets and chainmail!)
