Sailing club

Went off to see Ely sailing club this morning. It was quiet because Ely Aquafest (which I had forgotten about) is on today, but we got some information, and the boys are provisionally booked on a Start to Sail course, dates to be decided.
And I've just been playing with Google Earth. Fun. (Home is just off an area with high-res photos, so you can see the village, but not our house.)

I did an RYA Start Sailing course about, ooh, ten years ago. We were in Wayfarers bumming around the Forth - it was rather good fun, apart from the capsize drill.

They have a Wayfarer, but most training is in single handers (Toppers for juniors, probably, though they have one Optimist).
Capsize drill can be fun (probably more important for kayaking though - back when I was teaching kayaking and sailing, the novice kayakers were always much moe confident once they realized falling in wasn't a big deal).
