Showers

Shower at work now fixed (not by me), so that's one excuse for not cycling gone....

And the recompile goes trundle trundle.

The fix to Nana Pam's shower didn't last long, and for a while it's had isolating valves to turn it off between uses (I had to cut a panel in the plasterboard behind it to put them in - it will be covered with a mirror when everything is settled). Last week I put in a new gasket (part 12) and new (unnumbered) screws holding the cartridge (7) into the body (1).
More significantly, I took the whole thing out, routed out a hollow in the back of the panel it was mounted through so it met the "no more than 21mm thick" instruction that the original installers had ignored (Aqualisa sent a copy of the instructions with the part). Now doing up the screws holding (3) on doesn't tend to pull the cartridge out.
The rear mount (2) still needs some support (I had to cut through the battens it was on, and it's now further in anyway).

Also put a new cartridge in our shower, which was leaking again (this one through to the head, rather than around the knob). Had to pay for this cartridge (the last one was free because the one before (which was free under warranty) lasted such a short time (but long enough for the warranty on the original to expire - it started before we bought the house), but at least it resets the warranty. Initially it leaked around the inlet, but some LS-X seems to have cured that.

Also put the tap that made the water taste funny on the sink unit in the shed. Stainless steel is a bugger to cut, even with a carbide hole saw.
