I have said for a long time that I disliked Perl because it was unparsable. Although I do now use it quite a lot I'm glad that someone has actually proved it.
(My other complaint is that it's a monoculture, effectively the only Perl execution engines are derivatives of the One True Engine. Contrast this with C, C++ and other languages where there are several competing implementations of the compilers (indeed, GCC has been rewritten effectively from scratch at least twice).)
