Bike pannier clips

The little hooks that held my bike pannier onto the rack broke last night (going down a kerb from Homebase after looking at kitchen taps). In the many years since I bought them, Carradice have changed the design they use to one that latches round the rack, but the new style hooks a) still fit in the same aluminium profile on the panniers and b) are sold as spare parts. Which is nice. Their online shopping page does hang Mozilla, at least my installation (might be JVM dependent) - luckily Howes stock them, so I didn't need to wait for mail order anyway.
I wonder if I can improvise a way to fit the bit they call "anti-sway catch" too, replacing the old style elastic with hook.
