Jun. 30th, 2004 10:21 pmHad a partially irritating day at work, but got over it (replay of a discussion I thought was settled, but I think the relevent person has finally got the point now - it's not that I think his ideas are bad, just too late now and without the necessary resources).
Maybe a bad time to mention this but ...
Date: 2004-07-01 05:29 pm (UTC)If the WiFi stuff is still on offer, I've now got plenty of free time to play with it (see recent postings in my journal ... also if you have any good suggestions for recruitment firms or companies looking to hire experienced computer people ....)
cheers!

Date: 2004-07-02 07:23 am (UTC)How is the jobhunting going? nCipher are recruiting at the moment. And I've used ECM in the past and been reasonably happy with them (though the particular agent I dealt with has since left, and it was some years ago). When Setanta went under I think I sent my CV to about twenty agencies, none of whose details I can remember (and ended up at nCipher having applied directly - though two or three of the agencies also sent my CV to nCipher even though I told them I had already applied there). (I knew about nCipher because I'd forwarded Marcus Streets a cam.misc posting from when they were looking for a technical author in their very early days.)
If I don't make it to Tim's you are welcome to come and visit. In fact even if I do make it to Tim's you are welcome to come and visit us too. We're going to see Shrek 2 on Sunday afternoon, I'm not sure what else we're doing. There's supposed to be a "family fun day", but the Cubs lost Rory's form and so he's not on their float after all. (Though they worded it as "we have no record of getting his form" rather than "we lost his form, forgot about it, and didn't think of asking about it".)
