Pub meet, bike lights

Actually made it to the pub meet for a change, and remembered to take the network cards I'd promised the_magician a while ago. Cycling home afterwards as the light faded was quite pleasant.Almost the whole route had either streetlights or enough light from the glow on the horizon that my front LED light was adequate, only needing the halogen (which wasn't freshly charged) in a few places. (Last week I saw someone making rather nice 3W Luxeon based lights after a mention on bikecurrent. I'm not planning on spending that much on lights anytime soon though.)
Filling my car with petrol this weekend cost £59.90 (Tesco's LRP), so I anticipate more cycling (I did ride in a couple of times last week).
Have put new brakes and cables (including outers) my older drop bar bike, now I just need to put the new bar tape on. (I'm getting a bit of a tingly numbness in my right hand on the hybrid - changing the angle of brake levers helped a bit, and so did gloves and moving the saddle back a bit. I suspect changing the stem would help but I'm not sure which way it wants to be changed (to give a more upright less aerodynamic position I suspect, and the headwind was bad enough on the way in as it was). I might try a pair of different grips too. But drop bars are probably the real answer.
