Is there anything the Bush regime won't stoop to?

Someone remind me again how it would have been ok to invade Iraq even if we knew for certain there were no weapons of mass destruction, because Saddam was a Bad Man.

We've known for some time that there is no law that can prevent the ruler of a country doing anything he or she wants to. I think it used to be called the Divine Right of Kings. What's odd is this strange superstition that says a prime minister or a president (or a Patrician) is somehow different from a king, just because he had to put himself to the minimal inconvenience of deceiving a majority of the people to get into power, rather than simply being born to it...

> Divine Right of Kings

I thought we got rid of that with Charles I. And, in theory, the Iraq invasion was justified by Saddam breaking international law.

I suppose at least there's no evidence so far that Bush is actually using these supposed legal powers of his, and he has said it was wrong of Saddam to torture children to force confessions from their children.
