Ka seems to work at least it starts, and moves the small amount I've tried it (once I'd bled the clutch, which would have been quicker if I'd read that section before refitting the air intake, rather than taking it back out to get at the bleed valve). Power steering system still has lots of air in though, which I'm hoping is all that is causing the strange noises. Doing up the hose for the power steering in place was a real pain - if anyone reading has to change a Ka engine, either swap the whole pump, or order the O-ring seal before fitting the engine. (I hope there won't be a next time for me to remember that.).
