Spiderman 2

Went to see Spiderman 2. I think it was better than the first one, possibly just because some of the characters are already established. Having Doc Ock's background so similar to the Goblin's weakened it a bit. Otto was driven by a desire to help mankind rather than being a military contractor, but the basic setup of pushing ahead with a dangerous experiment and being taken over by it is there for both. The biggest problem is Peter not even trying to tell Harry that Spiderman didn't kill his father, something which "it's a superhero movie, you need to suspend your disbelief" doesn't cover. Even if Peter considers himself bound by the dying request of someone who just tried to kill him ("Don't tell Harry"), it doesn't make sense for him to not say anything at all. I can understand why they want to follow the comics in terms of the future Goblin while not having time for the full story, but it's a shame it couldn't be done better. Overall it was good fun though.
