I must not estimate timescales when coming down with a cold.

My brain was like treacle yesterday. Not only did I make a stupid mistake and spend far longer than usual spotting what it was, it took me three iterations of thinking "and have I done the same thing anywhere else in this code" to actually fix the other places I had. And I'd forgotten about a load of auxiliary stuff which will probably duplicate someone else's work but which I had to do anyway to test what I wanted to write.

Brain (and sore throat and cough) not much better today, but I'm not at work, it being Saturday (and not doing much at home).

Decided old computer will go in boy's bedroom, running Win98 only (and not networked). Running Setup now. Second disk that had Linux installation moved to newer machine. (At the time I had trouble getting dual-booting working with Linux partition over 8G boundary, or something - could get either Windows or Linux happy with setup, but not both at once. More reading of HOWTO's mighht have solved it and installers have progressed since, but buying another disk was much simpler (and first one got pretty full at times anyway).)
