armbmySociety have some interesting travel time maps, including some for Bus and rail travel in Cambridge and surrounds.
Another one shows the relative difference in rail and car travel times for journeys across the UK, starting from Cambridge (their methods page describes how taxis from stations are modelled, among lots of other detail).
