406 rim for folder

As discussed here, put a V-brake adaptor on the folder last week/this weekend.

I'm still a bit dubious about it - the horseshoe thing flexes alarmingly. A steel one and V-brake kit is on order from Wiggle, if it's an improvement the alloy one will go on the back. The cantilevers I had lying around. The tyre is as wide as would fit in the fork, to keep the outside diameter as close as possible to the old 500A (ISO 440) ones (it's a Schwalbe Mad Max, designed for BMX, but will take 100psi, so rolls fairly well). (I still think a skinnier tyre on 451 rims would look better, but I'll see how this works.)

Hmm. Maybe time to go to the tip and take an angle grinder to a cheap suspension fork....

Current setup definitely an improvement in the wet, but I'm still a bit dubious. Maybe a booster. Maybe I should just get a 20" Dahon from eBay (Kinetics' ex-demo or Electric Bikes' returns

That last link shuld have been http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Electric-Bikes-Direct
Better hoseclips on the adaptor helped, and the pads are wearing in. Still waiting for V-brakes from Wiggle (along with a couple of tyres for other bike), then I'll might try a booster.
